Al Khobar – Alfan Sharoy Graffiti

an official murals project

If you feel like a cultural contrast project after visiting the mosque and don’t want to go back the same way to the Corniche, you can look at a graffiti project stretching across about one street intersection, on Al Aqair St. / 7th St. north of the mosque between King Abdulaziz Rd and Prince Turkey St or Corniche. In 2018, it became one of the first graffiti projects nationwide in the “Bayoniya” quarter of Aqair St, led by Saudi artist Madawi Albaz and sponsored by Princess Abeer bint Faisal Al-Saud – namely “Alfan Sharqy” (“Art is Eastern“). More than twenty Saudi graffiti artists worked on it.

Sadly, the murals, like the walls on which they were painted, are now showing their time.
