Parks in Taif City

places to relax and meet friends

Parks are among the most popular places in Saudi cities. Although they are also used for certain sporting activities, such as jogging or fitness exercises, they are mainly used as a place to relax from the city, to recover from the heat in the evenings and to socialise. Taif is no exception in this respect. Although the city is located in a relatively ‘green’ area compared to other cities in the country, parks are (still) rather rare. Two of them may be briefly mentioned.

Ar Rudaf Park – this triangular park on the southern edge of the city was redesigned a few years ago. It is one of the city’s main attractions, especially during the spring Rose Festival. With a large artificial lake and attractions such as a (not quite so large) ferris wheel, it is a popular meeting place for families and friends who come to picnic together or simply to stroll around. In the evenings, the lake is the magnet of the park with its colourful fountains and matching music.

King Abdullah Park – it is also a large green oasis, located in the eastern part of Taif along King Khalid Rd and is therefore also easily accessible. Relaxing with family members, picnicking with friends and watching the evening fountain show at the pond are all cherished pastimes.
