Al Hada Mountain – Taif

al hada mountain and its mountain road – simply gorgeous

Al Hada is a small satellite town in the north-west, situated approximately 15 km from Taif on the main road 15 to Mecca. The area is home to a large number of nurseries and farms specialising in the cultivation of Taif roses and – to a lesser extent – strawberries. The village lies at an altitude of around 2,000 metres on a high plateau, from which the terrain slopes more or less steeply downwards towards the west in the direction of Mecca, offering stunning views and making the village a popular destination for day trips. Al Hada Mountain, as it is also known, is not strictly speaking a single mountain but rather the mountain range on whose plateau the village of Al Hada is situated. This part of the Taif area is an exceptional destination for nature and adventure enthusiasts. The road link between the aforementioned lowlands and the plateau is the Al Hada Mountain Road. As part of Highway 15, it winds its way in a breathtaking manner from the Al Hada plateau down into the valley to the west. After around 22 km, it reaches the Naaman Valley near the village of Al Kar and, after 30 km, leads directly into the district of Aziziya in the holy city of Mecca. It is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful mountain roads far and wide.
