You cannot book luxury hotels in the province – up to now. Rather, there are mainly middle-class hotels in Al Bahah city and near Baljurashi, some of which are also somewhat older. There seems to be a certain need to catch up.
Amidst the mountains and valleys of the Shadah, Shadah Al Asfal and Shadah Al Alaah mountain formations south of the city of Al Bahah, a unique form of tourism is emerging: cave resorts, near the towns of Makhwah and Qilwah, some of which are more than 2200 metres high.
This entire mountain range is characterised by a large number of large granite rocks that are clearly visible from the roads, in particular the standing rocks known as ‘Nadbah‘. And now a small number of these places are constantly being developed into so-called cave resorts to offer visitors unique experiences in nature and in the beautiful region.
