Climate in the Eastern Province

arid & humid

The Eastern Region has an arid climate. Winter temperatures are mild to warm but drop to as low as 8°C on some days. Summer temperatures are extremely hot, typical of most of western Asia, and usually exceed 40°C for five months. Due to the proximity to the sea and the comparatively high water temperatures, high humidity levels can occur. So, you might wish to avoid the summer for your stay in the region. Al Ahsa has a dry, very warm climate with a five-month summer and a relatively cool winter. In the hottest months of July and August, it is not uncommon for the temperature to exceed 45°.
